Rocky Mountain Rustics, Inc. was founded in 1998 by Chad Rothacher, current president of RMR Group. Headquartered in Ennis, Mont., the small company quickly established itself as a premier builder of custom log projects, both residential and commercial.

A move to nearby Big Sky in 2002, triggered by astronomical growth of the company and projects throughout the northern Rockies, necessitated the development of a highly qualified team of both office and field professionals. Continued, steady growth and a commitment to offering the highest standard of service led to the creation of the RMR Group, the parent company that manages the fully-staffed general contracting business; licensed excavation, civil engineering and equipment rental companies; a top of the line log and timber facility; and a land development division.
